Here we are, the last week of November. I enjoyed a fun weekend in Anchorage with my mom, Dorothy, and the Putmans of Wasilla.

Friday we spent a day touring the Matsu valley area, including Hatcher Pass near Palmer. A beautiful area even on a cloudy day!

Russian Orthodox Cemetary - Mom took pictures here 50 years ago and I grew up taking them to school for show and tell.

Here are two of the reasons I keep coming back-

The holidays are right around the corner. This coming Wednesday I fly to Anchorage to meet my mom, who will be flying up from Seattle. We’ll spend the weekend together traveling down memory lane as I was born in Anchorage and she can show me where we lived. Thanksgiving will be with Sue and Frobin Putman, my brother-in-law’s parents. I wish all of you a blessed day of Thanksgiving with your families.

Love Vikki

It’s snowing sideways!! Whoo hoo…it’s been snowing since before dawn (currently dawn comes around 8:30) and we have about 5 or 6 inches of new snow. Finally!

Last week I visited a second village, Kipnuk, for work-related business. Here is the plane that took us out there (Kipnuk is on the coast close to the Bering Sea).

This is the view outside of the school at Kipnuk. To the left is the airstrip, to the right is the village. Notice the boardwalks for getting across the tundra. Kipnuk is known for its’ artists who make incredible grass baskets. We arrived back in Bethel just at dusk.

Home sweet home!
